Beta Interactive Prototypes
These prototype pages are static beta assets for the interactive textbook work.
They are published under /beta/ so they can be reviewed without replacing the
live book pages.
Canonical authoring flow
The data-authored five-stage flow is the current beta lesson format. Its
presentation is the selected redesign-existing-projects result from the
three-arm design experiment.
- Chapter 1 overview and lesson directory
- Chapter 0.1 interact with a program using the console
- Chapter 1.1 Boolean values, state, and visible results
- Chapter 1.4 branching and scope
- Chapter 2.4 recursive numeric methods
- Flow lesson authoring guide
Earlier beta lesson flow
These pages remain available while lessons are migrated into the canonical authoring format.
- Chapter 1.1 data and memory
- Chapter 1.2 boolean expressions
- Chapter 1 lesson sequence
- Chapter 1 roadmap
- Chapter 2.1 numeric data and memory
- Chapter 2.3 loops
- Chapter 2.4 recursion
- Chapter 3 array memory
- Chapter 4 linked node chain
- Chapter 4 linked traversal
Authoring-flow research record
These pages preserve the evaluation work that led to the canonical flow.
Visual design skill experiment
The original authoring-flow presentation is frozen in dedicated baseline wrappers for this three-arm comparison. The redesign-skill result is now the canonical presentation; both experiment arms remain unchanged as a design decision record.
- Three-arm design comparison
- Chapter 2.4 redesigned with
redesign-existing-projects - Chapter 2.4 redesigned with Impeccable
- Chapter 1.4 redesigned with
redesign-existing-projects - Chapter 1.4 redesigned with Impeccable
- Redesign-skill audit and rationale
- Impeccable critique and command sequence
